2:30 Chesham Stakes
Really liked the look of SOMEWHAT when he won easily at Musselburgh. What I was impressed by most, was he was so green that day edging left to right and pretty much all over the place. He still managed to win impressively by 7 lengths. I suspect Mark Johnson has done a lot of work with and I believe he will settle a lot better tomorrow. At 7/2 he is a cracking bet and must surely be even better with that one run behind him.
3:05 Hardwicke Stakes
Going with the value here today and only one horse for me Frankel’s brother NOBLE MISSION. Has been out of sorts this season but I believe he is a lot better than he has been showing. If we go back to last year he looked like he was going to turn into a cracking group 1 horse. He would have been fully wound up for this at home and worked with to get him back on track. The E/W value available is lovely at 12/1 I am all over him.
3:45 Diamond Jubilee
At the start of season I gave a horse to follow in the mould of MINCE. He hasn’t quite lived up to expectations but I believe in what I seen last year not to desert him. I think there is still an awful lot in him and there is no better trainer to get them back on track than Roger Charlton. If he can find his last season form he will definitely be there come the finish. This sound surface will also help. 12/1 is great value E/W.
4:25 Wokingham
This is a tough race and after digging very deep into the formbook I believe the best value in the race is with Kevin Ryan’s horse BAPAK CHINTA. He is a lightly raced sort who I would say has struggled since winning the classy group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2011. He has not quite hit the heights expected. His trainer must think a lot of him though as it was only last year he was running him in the Group 1 King stand Stakes and now he down to a class 2. I think he has struggled in his last 2 handicaps down to the fact of a mark of 105. He is 10lb lower here today on a mark of 95 which is very workable. He carries just 8st 11lb and I believe he is thrown. He has previous royal ascot group win and is only 4. At best priced 50/1 he is serious value.
