3:50 HIS EXCELLENCY is the decent bit of value at 10/1. Has recently changed yards going from Gordon Elliott to David Pipe.
Last year Gordon Elliott rated this horse as his one to follow for the season. Things never turned out but he did pick up some decent wins.
He also ran in the triumph and although a big outsider, ran a great race to finish 8th/20. He did get blocked in that day so I’m sure he could of got closer.
I have his rating at 133 but officially he is 136 which is a shame. In all fairness I think under a change of scenery and new trainer, he is more than capable of winning this race. I don’t think the race is that strong and believe he won better races last year.
The key to this horse is a sound surface which he will get today and 10/1 he is a great bet.
