Hi Guys

Here is a Newmarket Lowdown of each race we got involved. It was a funny festival in which I would liked to of got involved in more race’s but the Weather played his part in that and we had alot of non runners.

DAY 1

Great day for all involved where we had 4 races and 2 winners.

1:40 Bahrain Trophy

A race in which I really fancied BUNKER but was declared non runner as he woke up Lame in the morning. This left us with 1 selection in WINDSHEAR who could only manage a 2nd. I thought WINDSHEAR actually ran quite well and done well to finish 2nd as he was in trouble along way. The winner Hartnell was mighty impressive and looks set to go for the St Leger where I would say has a lively chance at 12/1.

2:10 Portland Stakes

THE GREAT WAR and MUBTAGHAA were quite dissapointing and I was actually surprised at how bad they run. I wouldn’t totally disregard either horse in the future as I think both are better than there showing. They are both best watched for now.

2:40 Princess Of Wales Stakes

The day got better when CAVALRYMAN made all to win by neck from our other pick HILLSTAR. 11/1 was advised which put us in front for the day with 1 race still to go. As stated in my write up I always thought he was overpriced and although he was a quirky horse, when he gets his game together he is a very good horse. Would like to see which race both line up in next time out but I would have to say if they met again and the price was right, I would fancy HILSTAR to turn the form around.

4:25 Hasting’s Stakes

The day turned from a good day to a very good day when TABLE ROCK done the business advised at 11/2 and we were unlucky not to have PARBOLD 14/1 E/W. He finished 3rd but as a couple of late withdrawals brought the field to 7 which meant we lost out on a place.

DAY 2

I started the day with 3 races but that had to be narrowed down to 2 races as both horses got pulled out after I had typed up my write up.

1:40 Prince Bailey Fillies Handicap

HOT COFFEE was dissapointing. I thought she would love the ground and judging by the gamble alot of others did aswell. No excuses though she just wasn’t good enough. This race actually fell apart with about 7 being made non runner’s in the morning. Our other tip WEDDING RING run a cracker to finish 3rd and we did advise 14/1 in the morning. Again because of the amount of non runners finishing 3rd was not good enough so we lost out here aswell. I would be keen to see where WEDDING RING goes next as this was a good performance off top weight. HOT COFFEE will need to come down the handicap before she would interest me again.

3:15 Betfred Heritage Handicap

Not a bad race for us with GOLDEN STEPS finishing 3rd at 8/1 advised odds giving us E/W money. Was rather surprised ROYAL SEAL didn’t feature as I was quite confident he would so will keep a close eye on his next run.

DAY 3

A day in which non runner’s played havoc with our bets. We only ended up having 1 race as FIELD OF DREAM and AYAAR were pulled out of the Bunbury Cup. I feel both would of played a part especially AYAAR but was not to be. Below is the only race of the day.

2:05

No excuse for this race IDEA and MUTAWATHA were shocking. Both best watched for now.

CONCLUSION

Overall was a profitable festival but I have no doubt that had the weather not rapidly changed we would of had even more winner’s. I had my eye’s on around 4 races per day but non runners put that in jeopardy.

I hope you all enjoyed the Festival, especially the first day with a couple of winners.

GOODWOOD FESTIVAL is only 2 weeks away and we will be back with our Festival package at £5. Glorious Goodwood is one of my favourite’s and it is held ovr 5 day’s so this will be just £1 per day.
